Imagination Station Preschool held a "Freedom Walk" in honor of Independence Day on Friday, July 1st. Their parade, led by Police Chief Tom West (running lights, of course), started at the Preschool and came south about three blocks to the City Hall. Many family members and freinds came out in support of these preschoolers and walked with them.
Marshall Long, a Veteran and board member of the Goodman Rural Fire District, spoke to the kids and adults about Independence Day and what our freedom means to all of us.
City Employee David Sarratt, with the help of City Supervisor David Brodie, raised the United States Flag while the Pledge of Allegiance was said by all.
We even had "Aunt Sam" in attendance. They finished the event with red, white and blue popcicles.
A big thank you to Bill and Kathy Hess for including us in their day and sharing the importance of our Nation's freedom with the next generation.
